Egyptian, Islamic and Roman Architecture Essay - 1539 Words
Egyptian Civilization: I chose Egyptian civilization because itââ¬â¢s known as the birthplace of modern civilization. Another reason I chose Egyptian civilization is because its contributions to the world still seen, studied and absorbers. Egypt contribution has come along way and has mad an impact in on thousands of cultures worldwide. Some of Egyptââ¬â¢s contributions I will address are arts, literature and architecture. The Egyptians had little wood to build their buildings and monuments. The Egyptians lived in the desert where there was little vegetation, so they had to rely upon other kinds of building materials other than forest products. The Egyptians turned to the limestones and other materials that they could quarry in the desert. Theâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Khafreââ¬â¢s Fatherââ¬â¢s tomb has been dated from 2600 BCE. Many robbers broke into the pyramids to steal their precious jewels, potter and gold. The Egyptians had a custom of burying precious objects with their Kings. The Egyptian Kings had many valuable pieces stored in them at burial time. Many of the ancient artifacts belong to world-renowned museums around the world as the Metropolitan Museum. Egypt relies heavily on tourism as a means of revenue. The tourism business brought in almost thirteen billion dollars in 2010. The Pyramids are Egyptââ¬â¢s greatest attraction for tourist. Tourists who visit the pyramids are emotionally moved by the greatness of the site. Egyptians were known for their relentless dedication for the project. The Great pyramid contains over two million blocks of sandstone. Each sandstone block weighs a massive two and half ton. The pyramids are over 4500 years old. The great pyramid is the tallest of all the pyramids and stands 480 feet above the ground. The length of its sides is approximately eight hundred feet. It is estimated that, at the order of King Tut, it kept almost 100,000 slaves busy for many years. (Kristek, 1998) The pyramid is made of various levels. The p yramid has a level for the King and Queen as well as a gallery, and various passageways to the inner chambers. Islamic Civilization: Another civilization I will closely look at is Islamic civilization. Islamic civilization is one of the oldest,Show MoreRelatedAncient Architecture : Ancient And Medieval Architecture1015 Words à |à 5 PagesReligionââ¬â¢s Architecture Ancient and Medieval Architecture spans from the meaningful Zygurats in Mesopotamia to the elaborate Gothic Churches in France. Nietzsches Explaination on the Three Types of History
Nietzsche had an interesting view of history; he saw it as a necessity for men but that we also need to forget it. He saw history as a service to life and that the necessity of history is for man to be a historical being. However, Nietzsche also saw too much history as being detrimental and creates a generation of cynical people. He used the term ââ¬Å"inwardnessâ⬠defined as manââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"chaotic inner worldâ⬠filled with ââ¬Å"knowledge, taken in excess without hunger, even contrary to needâ⬠that ââ¬Å"no longer acts as a transforming motive impelling to action and remains hiddenâ⬠(Nietzsche 24). Nietzsche believed that history should be a balanced contemplation between historical and unhistorical to preserve life. He writes in his scholarship On the Advantage and Disadvantage of History for Life that ââ¬Å"the unhistorical and historical are equally necessary for the health of an individual, a people and a cultureâ⬠(10). Within the historical, Nietzsche named the three types the monumental, antiquarian and the critical. Nietzsche approaches history as monumental, which is examining the past to inspire greatness for present and future actions. Monumental history examines the past to use it as a teacher or model for future greatness. The monumental history is concerned with the greatest moments in history of humanity and uses it as leverage to emulate or surpass those historical moments. This kind of history attempts to emulate the greatness of the past but Nietzsche is skeptical of this idea by

System And Method Of Streaming Technology â⬠MyAssignmenthelp.com
Question: Discuss about the System And Method Of Streaming Technology. Answer: Introduction The streaming media is handing the receiving and presenting the data to the end user. It includes the transmission with the network performance requirements that include the delay, packet loss and the bandwidth [1]. The file transfer, web browsing and the emails are only for the elastic applications set with the multimedia applications that are depending upon the delay sensitive parts. The minimum bandwidth is loss tolerant with the infrequent loss that tends to cause the minor glitches in the system. Literature Review The streaming technology is based on the transfer of data with the processing that could be through the steady and the continuous streaming. It reduces the time of the download and then provide with the steady service that has been depending upon slowing down the systems along with taking advantage of the different streaming technology. The applications are based on working over the IP telephony, internet radio and the distance learning, interactive games etc. There are difficulties related to keep the services steady with the bandwidth that is found to be lower, with easy handling of the streaming server along with handling the packet loss that occurs mainly due to the transmission loss [2]. There are different methods which includes the real player, media player and the Quick time player, where the tasks are depending upon the decompression, removal of the jitter and the correction of the error. The RTSP is for the Internet application level protocol, where the framework is to set and handle the delivering of the transmission and the multicast data stream, that allows the media player to control the transmission with the exchange in the information control. There are conjunction processes with the delivery of the streaming of audio and the video content. It is based on maintaining the state of the server at the time of transmission unlike the HTTP [3]. Hence, for this, the client server architecture also tries to handle and overcome the limitations of the HTTP, RTSP and the other functions. The encapsulation of the giants with the payload type, sequence number and the other synchronisation source identifier helps in the management of the misc. Critical Analysis The analysis is based on the challenges with the packets receiving equal and the best effort service. The scalability is for the transmissions with the web browsing and the streaming of the multi-media which is delay sensitive and loss tolerant [4]. The solutions of the networking are based on adding the performance which guarantee the internet stacking and the quality of service. The IP Multicast with the different attempts is based on holding the adaptive applications depending upon the streaming and the semi-real-time support over the UDP and the TCP. The examples are related to the playing back of the buffer with the setup forms that include the applications of the UDP, TCP and the IP which includes the different application level techniques to handle the effects of delay and loss mitigation [5]. There are different tools like Adobe Flash Media Play, Wowzah that has been working on building the different performance measures and working over the featuring of the games. The coordination and setting the higher quality of the services are based on matching with the wider range of the models for business and the different platforms. The optimisation standards and the other rendering processes are based on handling the quality of service along with working over the reduced size format and the redundancy with the removal of data. Here, the forms are set to define the requirements where VCR is to pause, resume and handle the different options for the fast forward, rewind etc. The streamlining is mainly how the data stored and the other live multimedia applications can take hold of the services with the match to the concealment of errors [6]. The paper is also about the detailed analysis which includes the activities and the interactivity measures of the client. This works with the forms that are depending upon the forms that are related to the server file handling and the interactivity in the easy form. Case Study The case is related to how Netflix can handle the 30% downstream of the traffic from US in 2013, with the measures related to the revenue conflicts as well. Here, there is a need to analyse the entities with the registration and the payment servers that tend to work towards the different versions of the movie [6]. The cloud setup and the hosting procedures are for the Netflix which take hold of the different types of the web procedures and the user browsing in an effective manner. Netflix tends to make use of the parties with the CDN to store and host the data with playing all the important content that is for the better experiences of the customer. The development process with the upstream and the downstream is depending upon the applications which are set by the bytes. With the changing forms and the standards, the use of the DASH which is important for the Dynamic, Adaptive Streaming and working over the HTTP is set where the server can easily divide the file of the video and then work over the different measures and the rates. The forms are set to define how the client need to measure the approaches with the bandwidth that includes the chunk value the choices are depending upon the availability and the measures which need to be taken for the intelligence system standards [7]. DASH is also to work on the rate of encoding and defining the functions that are important for determining the higher and better availability standards for the bandwidth. For the content distributed networks, the major issue is related to the multimedia functioning and the working with certain delay and loss. It is important to focus on the multicast and web-caching so that the content is pulled on demand with news that is not cached. Netflix upload the data on the studio master for the Amazon cloud which includes the creation of the different versions of the movie in the cloud [7]. The upload of the versions could be from the cloud to the CDNS where the Netflix web pages are for the user browsing. The hosts and the stream content like the Limelight Level 3 is one of the example related to it. Solution using user centric design approach The designing of the solution is mainly using Wireshark, where Netflix has been completely based on managing the data which is effective and is being sent from the laptop. The forms of the authorisation are also to handle the selection processes with the content that includes the detailed procedures and the bandwidth measures as well. Here, the adaptation processes include the different levels which are related to the congestion and how the data and video streaming can work on the system of DASH [1]. The experiments are mainly based on the systematic procedures which includes the details related to the client response and the time that is taken for handling and measuring the server levels to a better standard. The file transmission and then working over the security standards is when the client pay-out begins with the transmission standards. The time constraints are also related to the format which includes the time for the playout. Here, the forms are related to the internet radio talk show, live sport events and setting the file transmission in the easy form. There is no-fast forwarding which is possible with the constraints that are set with the time and the stored streaming process [2]. The solution for the CDN is also to setup the advancement of the servers which are located to the potential servicers, with the use of the CDN companies handling clients in the large corporations namely the TV/Mobile industry. The Akamai is for handling the globally distributed networks of the servers with the pulls and the caches that are set for the content at the edge of the internet. They are mainly for the superior whole site delivery. The edge server generally handles the system with the origin and the end user [4]. Conclusion There are different limitations which are related to the constraints in the network. It is important to focus on the details with the deployment and the complexity based on the management cost and the efforts. The crossing of the legacy with the best efforts is set for the particular portion of the internet [5]. The research is based on the automatic and the self-organisation of the networks with the self-deployment and then including the QoS services. Chronic Illnesses Ethan is Likely to Be Suffering From â⬠Free Samples
Question: Discuss about the Chronic Illnesses Ethan is Likely to Be Suffering From. Answer: Based on the scenario provided, Ethan is likely to be suffering from the following chronic illnesses and conditions: Acute Myocardial Infarction: This refers to the medical name of a heart attack. Ethan blames this chronic infection on the quarrel he once had with his wife Alma. He believes it is from the heated argument that he once had with his partner that landed him in this condition. However, upon medical diagnosis, it was revealed that the condition was a derivative of his failure to cooperate with the hospital staff. The illness was caused by a partial blockage of one of his arteries with deposits of fat. Obesity: Ethan is reported to be overweight with a distinctive beer belly. The overweight condition could be as a result of eating too much food that is rich in calories. This, in turn, led to an increased overall body weight. Ethan is usually at the farm looking after his animals hence does not engage in physical exercise that can help in controlling the excess body weight. He does minimal movements and in most cases just around his farm. This, in turn, increases the chances of obesity since the excess fats or calories are not being burnt down. Tobacco and related conditions: Ethan consumes up to two packs of tobacco per day and rarely abides by the doctors medical prescription regarding his condition. Addiction to tobacco smoking is a recipe for even other serious chronic conditions like cancer of lungs that would eventually result in complications with the breathing system. He is also an addict of beer and consumes an average of 1.5 bottles per day, a condition that is likely to have diverse effects in case it continues. Emphysema: This is a condition of the lung that causes shortness of breath. As a result of his smoking habits, Ethan has been subjected to the risks of attack by emphysema. This condition is mainly caused by smoking that leads to blockage of the air sacs of the lungs. Once the air sacs are blocked, complications with breathing, shortness of breath, is experienced. Potential impact of formal diagnosis of chronic illnesses to Ethan and his family Formal diagnosis of the chronic illnesses highlighted above would generally improve the quality of care as well as enhancing patient safety. This is achievable in a number of ways among them: Accuracy of diagnosis: Formal diagnosis is done by professional who have both the knowledge and experience in handling the various medical situations. It is thus a surety and the only accurate and reliable way of determining the chronic conditions that an individual may be experiencing(Doherty, 2016). Proper care: After formal diagnosis, the health care providers would also advise on how best Ethan and his family would participate in enhancing the quality of his life(Eduardo, 2010). Proper care strategies are derived from the diagnosed conditions and are therefore free from trial and errors that may be quite unsuccessful in the achievement of patient safety and care, Information and education to Ethan and the family: The above chronic illnesses call for complex and elaborate steps that would be best communicated by a professional to the care givers(ZuWallack, 2011). Upon formal diagnosis, the health care provider would organize and train Ethan and his family on how he would go about his normal life at the revealing health conditions. These conditions would call for a total overhaul of the life and demand for a series of changes that need time to adapt(Nolte, 2010). Such information is very fundamental in managing the conditions of Ethan. Models of care that best suit Ethan's needs Ethan is willing to have cardiac rehabilitation programs but outlines a few conditions under which the programs would be beneficial to him(Martin, 2008). Such conditions include the distance from his home to the hospital which is barely more than an hours drive. This basically translates to a long distance from his home to the hospital thereby unable to get there frequently. Another condition is the commitment on his farm. Ethan feels he is the only one who can adequately take care of his animals and therefore would not wish to move out of his farms as frequently as such(Lubkin, 2016). Following the above conditions, Ethan, therefore, needs a care model that can attend to him at his home. Integrated primary and acute care systems would be one of the best models suited for Ethans needs(Bradford, 2012). This is a model that aims at improving the social, physical and, mental health and well-being of the local people. It achieves this by bringing together the hospital, GP, mental and community health services together to achieve shred incentives and goals aimed at what is best for the local population. Integrated primary and acute care systems present case studies, practical advice and many resources that would help Ethan improve the quality of his life(Price, 2015). The following steps are fundamental in establishing this model: Building a collaborative system of relationship and leadership on the shared local mission for the local people(Eduardo, 2010) Development of a wide system of governance that would guide the change Designing of the financial, business and care models Implementation of the care model in such a way that it is flexible enough and can adapt to changes during care giving(Baslet, 2017) Another model that would see an enhancement in the quality of health care of Ethan is multi specialty community providers' model. The model gives nurses and doctors an opportunity to world in collaboration with other social and health care providers to meets the needs of patients outside the hospital(Martin, 2008). This model serves the patients at the local levels and heavily relies on social care professionals to reach the patients. Bundotich Healthcare Services and Agency The above subject matter refers. Following your expression of a desire to have cardiac rehabilitation programs, the hospital through its management is pleased to inform of the decision made. The decision is made to the best of your interest with the aim of improving the quality of your health. The hospital management in collaboration with other social and health care providers has unanimously agreed to organize integrated primary and acute care systems programs for you. The program will see the care providers with various professional grounds visit your farm to provide care and support services. We shall be doing this due to the earlier highlighted challenges that hinder you from visiting the hospital for the same programs. The team will be visiting your farm three times a week at an interval of two days and the program would run for three months. This period is deemed significant and would yield good positive results. The hospital, therefore, expects you to be available for the program as it would not take much of your time. The session will run for two hours inclusive of questions or any clarifications you may need. Ethan is one of the patients continuing to receive medication from our hospital following a number of acute illnesses he is suffering from. One of such illnesses is obesity. Ethan lives on his farm and has a herd of dairy cattle for which he takes care. This is the task that he does on a daily basis. The activity is being carried out in his farm and therefore does not travel a long distance to get to his place of work. Ethan spends almost the whole day looking after his dairy animals and therefore does not engage in any form of exercise that would relieve him of excess fats and calories. As a result, the hospital recently diagnosed him with obesity. In order to contain the situation, the hospital is writing referring him to your facility for gymnasium activities. The hospital feels there is need for him to engage in physical body exercise so as to help him get rid of the excess fats. Through a series of gymnastics, he would be able to regain his normal weight and thereby control the unnecessary increase in weight. Excess body weight may lead to such conditions as hypertension or heart attack and hence the need to manage it. In order to achieve this, the hospital is asking you to allocate him two hours of exercise for five day days in a week. The convenient time for him would be from 5 pm to 7 pm as he shall have been through with the day's task. References Baslet, G. (2017). The Symbolism In Hills Like White Elephants Essay Example For Students
The Symbolism In Hills Like White Elephants Essay Ernest Hemingway is an incredible writer, known for what he leaves out of stories not for what he tells. His main emphasis in Hills Like White Elephants seems to be symbolism. Symbolism is the art or practice of using symbols, especially by investing things with a symbolic meaning or by expressing the invisible or intangible by means of visible or sensuous representations (WWWebster Dictionary). He uses this technique to emphasize the importance of ideas, once again suggesting that he leaves out the important details of the story by symbolizing their meaning. This short story is filled with symbolism, some of which the reader may never find. The title itself can be analyzed a lot deeper. The hills refers to the shape of the female body during pregnancy and the white elephants symbolize a property requiring much care and expense and yielding little profit (WWWebster Dictionary). The story is about a man and a woman taking a train to get an abortion. The train is supposed to show change and movement, something this couple appears to need because their life is very routine. We will write a custom essay on The Symbolism In Hills Like White Elephants specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now The reader is told that there is a curtain made of strings of bamboo beads, hung across the open door into the bar, to keep out flies. The bamboo beads not only keep them from their problems (known as flies) but it also keeps their lives separate from all of the other people at the bar. Hemingway then tells the reader that the train will stop at this junction for two minutes and then go to Madrid. The train only stopping for two minutes is to show the importance of the girls decision to have the abortion. It is a big decision and there is not that much time for her to sit around and think about it. The guy and the girl are now sitting at a bar deciding what they should drink. The girl takes off her hat and puts it on the table. This action symbolizes her putting her feelings on the table to talk about them with the man. Instead of coming straight out and talking about the problems the couple decides to drink beer. The act of consuming alcohol is another way for them to run away from their problems. Later on, the man and the woman are talking and the woman says, They look like white elephants. He replies to her comment by saying, Ive never seen one. Knowing what we know about white elephants (their meaning of valuable things that are hard to maintain) this shows that the man has never had to deal with a situation like this. Her retort is No, you wouldnt have. This reveals that she thinks hes a coward who has never faced a problem like this before. The couple continues to drink throughout the story. At one point the girl shows that she has some faith in what the man thinks by asking him what way they should drink their drinks, with or without water. The couple then orders two Anis del Toro. This is a new drink to the woman, so like any curious drinker she wonders what it will taste like. She hopes that the drink will taste different than others she has tried but finds that it tastes like licorice. The girl then says, Everything tastes like licorice. Especially all the things youve waited so long for, like absinthe. When she says this it refers to how she thought that this relationship would be different than others, but once she got into it she realized that he is just like all the other guys she has dated in the past. Later in the story she adds to this feeling of repetition by saying, Thats all we do, isnt it- look at things and try new drinks. She really seems to be bored with the same things this relationship continues to p roduce. .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca , .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca .postImageUrl , .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca , .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca:hover , .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca:visited , .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca:active { border:0!important; } .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca:active , .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u54135b96bb3e77fdcedd41548086baca:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: The Wieght Of Puishment EssayAlcohol continues to be a factor in this story. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that Hemingway seemed to deal with a lot of his problems by drinking. The couple orders more drinks and continues to try and discuss the issue of the abortion. It is really an awfully simple operation, Jig. Its not really an operation at all. These are the unfelt words from the man to the girl. He looks at the abortion as a simple operation, not as taking a future persons life. It is also reveled at this point that the girls name is Jig, a name meaning to move with rapid jerky motions. This name might revel something to her actions with males. The man says that f or the operation They just let the air in, basically inferring that it is as easy as opening a window. He also seems to refer to the pregnancy as a problem; Well be fine afterward. Just like we were before. Thats the only thing that bothers us.It is assumed by both parties in this relationship that there are only supposed to be two people in this relationship. The girl looked at the bead curtain, put her hand out and took hold of two of the strings of beads. There are only two beads in her hand; this doesnt include room for another person in this relationship. She later shows that she doesnt really know if she wants to go through with this operation, perhaps she does want the baby to enter the relationship. And once they take it away, you never get it back.At the end of the story the man reveals that he doesnt want to have the kid because it will prohibit their current lifestyle of carefree travel. There were labels on them from all the hotels where they had spent nights. The man i s happy with his lifestyle, and having this child would inhibit him from continuing. He feels that if they have the child that he will be locked into their relationship and will never be able to enjoy his light-hearted life again. It isnt really easy to understand this story because it is only told in a small amount of time. Hemingway doesnt tell you about the characters pasts or futures, the story is all about the present. Even at the end of the story he doesnt tell you how the couple decides to deal with this issue, instead he leaves that up to the reader. The main description in the story is his symbolism, once again inferring that Hemingway leaves the stories plot to the reader. These stories require more effort from the reader, but seem to turn out differently for ever reader making them a bit more interesting.

buy custom Preventing Cancer through Food essay There has been a growing concern over the increased incidence of terminal diseases. Since these diseases have eluded a cure, prevention has been widely advocated for. Although cancer is a terminal disease, especially if not detected early enough, there are various foods that can help to stave off its incidence, inhibit the growth of cancerous cells and reduce the size of tumors. Such foods, which can be found in organic markets and grocery stores, contain certain properties that fight or prevent cancer. For instance, some fruits contain anti-oxidants which neutralize free radicals and heal the resultant damage. Below is an analysis of various foods that are vital to the human body in the fight against various forms of cancer. One of the most important fruits is the avocado. It contains a strong and powerful antioxidant, glutathione. This antioxidant blocks the absorption of certain fats in the intestines and attacks free radicals in the human body. In addition, avocados are a rich source of potassium and beta-carotene. Finally, avocados contain important chemicals that are used in the treatment of viral hepatitis, which is a leading cause of the cancer of the liver. Secondly, various vegetables, such as the cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage, contain indole-3-carbinol. This chemical converts several undesirable properties in the estrogen hormone into protective compnents. Therefore, it aids in combating breast cancer. Sprouts, a sub-group of the broccoli, contains sulforaphane, a vital phytochemical that combats rectal and colon cancers by stimulating the production of enzymes which deactivate carcinogens and other free radicals. These enzymes have also successfully inhibited the growth of tumors, though such tests have not been carried out conclusively. Thirdly, carrots contain large amounts of beta-carotene This chemical aids in the fight against various forms of cancer such as throat, mouth, lung, intestinal, prostrate, bladder and breast cancer. In addition, carrots contain falcarinol which reduces the risk of contracting cancer. Brandt (2003) observed that isolated cancerous cells multiplied less quickly in the presence of falcarinol. However, since falcarinol is a polyacethylen, carrots should be eaten raw. Garlic contains allium compounds such as dialyl sultides that enhance immunity. These compounds stimulate the activity of immunity-enhancing cells which then fight cancerous cells and break down all causative substances. In addition, they slow down the development of tumors by blocking carcinogens from destroying unaffected cells. Garlic oil contains Diallyl Sulfide, which deactivates carcinogens in the liver. Arab and Fleischauer (2001) found out that individuals who regularly consumed raw or cooked garlic faced half as much risk of conntracting stomach cancer. In addition, the risk of contracting colorectal cancer was lowered by a third. Finally, garlic wipes out bacteria which promote stomach cancer such as Helicobacter Pylor. Mushrooms and nuts are vital in the fight against various forms of cancer. Several mushrooms, such as maitak, shiitake, reishi, murill and Agaricus Blazei, help the body in building a strong immune system. They contain lentinan and other vital polysaccharides that promote immunity. In addition, they are an important source of Beta Glucan and lectin proteins which attack cancerous cells and inhibit their multiplication. Finally, mushrooms contain thioproline which stimulates the body into production of interferons. Various studies have capitalized on this and have successfully shown that mushrooms can be used in chemotherapy. Finally, nuts contain various antioxidants such as campferol and quercetin which suppress the multiplication of cancerous cells. The Brazilian nut is known to contain selenium, which is used in the treatment of prostrate cancer. In conclusion, there are other foods that are used in the prevention and treatment of cancer. However, the above listed foods are very vital if an individual is to successfully combat various forms of cancer. By combining food with various other precautionary measures, individuals will successfully reduce their exposure to risks associated with cancer. Buy custom Preventing Cancer through Food essay

Original media coverage of various events in U.S. history, period of 1920s - Assignment Example On the other hand, the mass development and distribution of most of these mass mediums occurred in USA. The advertisements between 1841 and 1929 rose as a result of the expansion of America to Atlantic Ocean, which was among key factors that lead to the development of the industry. This is because of the campaign for products from east, which called for awareness in the western (John 2000). In the early 1920s, most cities in USA had newspapers, which were the primary medium of advertisements. Publishersââ¬â¢ main target was local businessmen. The construction of the transcontinental highway provided venues of advertisements hence building the media industries. The ideal case that was in all media companies is the advertisements for eastern products. V.B Palmer is the founder of the mass media company that enhanced the advertisements. His firm first ventured in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was the greatest distributor of newspaper within and outside the city. Palmerââ¬â¢s venture grew leading him to opening other branches in New York, Boston, and Baltimore. The success of the company was as a result of using ideas from the oldest media agency by J. Walter, in 1861 (History of American Journalism 2012). In 1921, the company was capable of distributing over 12,000 newspapers. This lead to multi-city and multi-state, as information flowed freely within its reach. It also facilitated the growth of other industries, leading to advertisement regulations. This was the first company to offer clients with planning services; this lead to planned advertisements. Different companies grew during the period. Magazines were not that common because their invention took place towards the end of the 19th century.
